The Leda Dederich Fund for Social Justice

Leda was deeply committed to improving the world. A passionate advocate for racial and social justice, she was a lifelong activist in the streets and online.

As a tribute to her legacy, Leda’s family and friends have established the Leda Dederich Fund for Social Justice as a Donor Advised Fund through the East Bay Community Foundation. The fund received its charter gift from Leda’s husband Andy Gaines, who recognized that this was something he and his beloved would have done together.

We are excited and inspired to bring this entity into being and to nurture its growth and development into something that will support issues important to Leda, and also foster awareness, understanding and committed values in her children, and perhaps other children as well, as they grow.
